It is a rare thing in the often fleeting world of fashion, for a garment to endure as impressively as the navy blazer. Yet here we are, over a century after its appearance, celebrating a true icon of men’s tailoring. Don’t call it a comeback though, because it simply never went away. Since 1937, Benson & Clegg has earned a reputation as the leading authority on the traditional blazer, our house style representing the absolute epitome of classic menswear. Worn by well-dressed gentlemen across the globe, this icon of British style is, without question, the most convenient, versatile, and adaptable garment that a gentleman can own.

While the style of our blazer has evolved over the decades, it retains many of the familiar features first realised by Harry Benson over 80 years ago – roped shoulders and wide, sweeping lapels bringing strength and breadth to the torso, a nipped in waist and flared skirt extenuating the line of the body, a perfect marriage of form and function making it a stylish yet practical garment.

Much has changed in the world of fashion and will continue to do so, yet one thing remains ever present – each of us dresses to feel a certain way. And while we have our own preference on how we would wear this iconic garment, style, sophistication and that uniquely British sense of tradition will always be sought after, whatever the occasion.
