Cloisonné is a centuries-old enamelling technique: fine metal wire forms small cells across the surface, each filled with vitreous enamel and fired until it fuses to glass. Here an intricate octagonal design is worked in two shades of red, giving the cufflinks depth and a rich, jewel-like finish.
Each pair is made by hand in England from sterling silver and hallmarked at the Birmingham Assay Office.
