You need good braces. Especially with a suit

"I bought these to wear with a linen suit after sewing brace buttons into the trousers myself. Once I put them on, I immediately understood why generations of well-dressed men preferred braces to belts. The comfort is remarkable. Without a belt tightening around your waist, the trousers simply hang from your shoulders exactly as they were intended to. There's no feeling of being cinched in, no constant adjustment throughout the day, and none of the habitual "hoiking up" that so many men probably do without even noticing. The improvement in the way the trousers drape is just as impressive. The front crease stays straight, the cuffs fall consistently over the shoes, and the whole suit looks more relaxed and elegant. Linen, in particular, seems to benefit enormously. The braces themselves are beautifully made. The boxcloth has a reassuring weight, the leather button ends are excellent quality, and they feel like something built to last for many years rather than a disposable fashion accessory. Yes, button braces require sewing six buttons into your trousers, but that's a one-time job. Once you've done it, you'll probably wonder why you ever tolerated a belt with tailored trousers. For anyone who wears suits regularly, or simply appreciates traditional tailoring, I can recommend these without hesitation. They have transformed the comfort and appearance of my favourite suit."
